At the designated time, we'll meet at Plaza del Mercosur, the starting point of our free walking tour of Puerto Norte, one of Argentina's most ambitious urban redevelopment projects. Here, we'll start learning about Rosario's old port and its strategic role in the country's export model. Ready to discover more about this neighborhood? Let's get started!
First, we'll head to the Hotel Puerto Norte Design. There, we'll take a look at this building, which once housed the old Safac malthouse, and talk about how this industrial structure has been restored through recycling techniques, preserving original features like load-bearing walls and loading systems.
We'll continue our walk to the Silos Davis, now home to Rosario's Museum of Contemporary Art. Here, we'll learn how these concrete silos were transformed into cultural spaces. Did you know their cylindrical structure was originally designed to optimize large-scale grain storage and transport?
Along the way, we'll also take in modern developments like the Dolfines Guaraní Towers and the Forum Puerto Norte, both examples of the area's new vertical urbanism. We'll also walk through green spaces like Parque de la Arenera, where we'll talk about the recovery of the riverside.
